Paperless Delays At Yusuf Opener

Some Yusuf/Cat Stevens fans that scored seats to the tour opener in Philadelphia through a third-party ticketing site learned a hard lesson about the wild world of ticketing.

The fans were apparently issued gift cards through the site and told the cards would serve as their electronic ticket to the concert at the . But since the tour is ticketless and specified that original credit card holders needed to attend the event with no transfers of tickets, the fans that used the third party site faced some major holdups at the door.

“I was told I only need the gift card and a driver’s license and credit card,” fan Todd Hammond told local KYW-AM. “They assured me that this was 100 percent guaranteed, you will have no problems getting in the door, the tickets are on the gift card, it’s a new type of paperless ticketing that they’re trying.” More than 100 people holding the gift cards were initially turned away, the station noted, though they were eventually allowed entry.
