TV On The Radio In 2015

Tonight’s sold-out show at McMenamins Crystal Ballroom in Portland, Ore., marks TV On The Radio’s last gig of 2014. Thankfully, the band has rolled out the schedule for its first U.S. road trip of the new year and will be back on stage in no time.

The indie rock band has a new album to show off.  Released in November, Seeds is TVOTR’s first studio effort since bassist Gerard Smith’s death in 2011 from lung cancer.

In its review, Exclaim! calls Seeds “the most clear-eyed and anthemic album of their career. It’s also the closest thing to pop the group is likely to produce.”

The magazine adds, “The songs are less busy than in the past, but in dialling back the noise, [David] Sitek emphasizes the groove – something the band never get enough credit for — and magnifies small details, turning songs like ‘Could You’ into towering, soulful anthems.”

TV On The Radio’s 2015 schedule kicks off with a run of previously announced European dates in February. Here’s the plan for the States:

March 20 – Dallas, Texas, Granada Theater
March 21 – Kansas City, Mo., Arvest Bank Theatre At The Midland
