A Few More Dates: Jack White, Billy Joel

Billy Joel books yet another show at Madison Square Garden, along with a gig in Minneapolis … Jack White rolls out a handful of new U.S. dates with stops in Ohio, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Nevada.

With all of his previously announced 2015 Madison Square Garden gigs already sold out, it’s no wonder that Billy Joel keeps adding franchise shows to his schedule.

The latest concert at the famed New York City venue is set for Aug. 20. The show is the 20th of the franchise and the Piano Man’s 66th all-time performance at The Garden. Joel had already beat Elton John’s previously held record of 64 shows as the most number of performances at MSG.

Plus, Minneapolis’ Target Center has snagged a show with Joel on May 16. Joel isn’t a stranger to that venue either, having played nine previous times at the arena. The gig marks his first solo appearance at the Target Center since 1999. He last took the stage at the arena in 2001 during his co-headline tour with Elton John.

Let’s talk tickets. A Citi card member presale for the MSG show begins Dec. 15. General onsales for MSG and Target Center are both scheduled Dec. 19. For more information visit BillyJoel.com.

Jack White is filling out his 2015 schedule with additional dates in January and February.

Along with the new gigs, this week the rocker revealed that Loretta Lynn will be joining him as his special guest at his previously announced show in Nashville Jan. 28.

White is continuing to support his second solo studio album, Lazaretto, which was released in June via his own Third Man Records in association with XL Recordings and Columbia Records.

Lazaretto was just nominated for a Grammy for best alternative music album, while the title track earned nods for best rock performance and best rock song. White also earned a nomination for “best boxed or special limited edition package” for his work as co-art director in putting together The Rise & Fall Of Paramount Records, Volume One (1917-27).
