IATSE To Workers: Don’t Steal Stuff
IATSE Stage Technician Local 33, which reps union stage workers at several Los Angeles venues, has cautioned its workers to not steal from the backstage areas.

“Theft in the workplace has been happening regularly at the various venues,” Mark Madrigal, the local business rep, wrote on the union’s website. “Whomever it may be, when caught, you shall be punished to the fullest of Local 33’s abilities.”
Madrigal told Deadline Hollywood it’s “just a warning” and there are no substantiated thefts by the members but “tools and other people’s belongings” go missing.
“If we find out it was a member, they will be disciplined. … If it was a probationary member, they won’t work again.”
Local 33’s territory includes the Hollywood Bowl, Staples Center, Pantages Theatre, and the Greek Theatre.
