Cosby Sweater’s Moniker Makeover

What do you do when your band’s name that represented all that is wholesome is suddenly connected to a sex scandal?  If your group is called Cosby Sweater, then it’s time for a change in identity.

The band formerly known as Cosby Sweater.

Named after the knit sweaters Bill Cosby wore on his 1980s “The Cosby Show,” Cosby Sweater hasn’t exactly been rekindling the warm fuzzies as of late – mot since several women began accusing the comedian of alleged drug-and-rape episodes.  Although Cosby has denied the accusations, the man who has been a cornerstone of American comedy for more than four decades has seen his name in headlines for unsavory reasons during the past few months.

And now Cosby Sweater is dropping any references of The Cos as the Indianapolis funk trio switches its name to Turbo Suit.

The band is launching a tour beginning Jan. 14 in Allston Mass.  As Pollstar’s intrepid info managers roll up their sleeves and dive into the massive data core located underneath our Fresno campus and move all records over to the new name, here’s the routing for the upcoming adventure:
