K. Michelle’s Twisted Mind Tour
Marking her second studio effort, Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart? was released Dec. 9 via Atlantic Records. The album debuted at No. 4 on the Nielsen SoundScan chart.
The Washington Post notes that although the songstress has her own reality TV show – “K. Michelle: My Life” – that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take her music seriously.
“While K. Michelle’s name may never disappear from gossip sites, she continues to distinguish herself from her reality television peers, who seem to stay in the studio but never release music – let alone good music. Michelle is a singer who is also a reality star, rather than a reality star who sings,” the Washington Post’s Sarah Godfrey writes.
Rolling Stone included the LP on its list of the “20 Best R&B Albums of 2014.” In its write-up the magazine raves, “The music shifts with each number, from the soul-jazz dramatics of ‘Judge Me’ to the synth-funk erotica of ‘Something About the Night,’ as this Southern queen proves she’s more than a one-sound emoticon.”
