Times Union Center Revamp
The Times Union Center in Albany, N.Y., is getting a more than $15 million facelift for its 25th birthday.

Renovations to the SMG-managed venue will include enclosing its atrium, replacing upper-level seating, constructing a connector with the parking garage, and improving restrooms and concessions, the Saratogian reported.
“I can’t thank the Albany County legislators enough for investing the money needed to keep the facility in not just good shape but something that residents in the community and the county can be proud of,” SMG regional general manager Bob Belber told the paper.
The updates will be funded by a tax on hotel stays in the area. Work on the facility is expected to begin in late fall or early spring and wrap in fall 2016.
