Grateful Dead Sets Chicago Reunion
The Grateful Dead’s “core four” will play a three-day reunion at Soldier Field in Chicago July 4-6 in celebration of the storied band’s 50th anniversary.
“When summer is here, the time will be right for dancing in the street. Dancing in Chicago… All we need is music, sweet music, there’ll be music everywhere,” posted drummer Bill Kreutzmann, who also added an event website.
Produced by Peter Shapiro and Madison House, tickets will go on sale employing a traditional method: by a first-come, first-serve mail order system starting January 20. An online pre-sale through Dead Online Ticketing will begin Feb. 12 and be available to the general public Feb. 14 through Ticketmaster.
Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart and Kreutzmann will be joined by Trey Anastasio of Phish, Bruce Hornsby and Jeff Chimenti, whowill perform two sets of music each night.
