Björk Books ‘Vulnicura’ Dates
“New York, here are your Vulnicura tour dates! They are for real! Hope you enjoy them” Björk says. The officially real, legit NYC gigs begin in March, coinciding with the Museum of Modern Art’s exhibition dedicated to the composer/musician/artist.
As Björk noted in her Facebook message posted above, the intimate run of shows are in support of her upcoming album, Vulnicura, due out in March. The wonderfully weird artist wrote six of the tracks herself and co-write two with Arca. One track was co-written with John Flynn. She produced the album with Arca and the Haxan Cloak, who mixed the album with Chris Elms. The LP was mastered by Mandy Parnell. Björk was responsible for the string arrangements.

The Big Apple excursion starts with two 12 p.m. matinee shows at Carnegie Hall March 7 and 14. After that Björk takes her show to New York City Center, where she’s lined up four performances: March 25 (8 p.m.), March 28 (12 p.m.), April 1 (8 p.m.) and April 4 (12 p.m.).
Björk returns to New York in June for Governors Ball, which takes place at Randall’s Island Park June 5-7.
The MOMA exhibition opens to the public March 8 and runs through June 7, chronicling “her career through sound, film, visuals, instruments, objects, costumes, and performance.” The retrospective will cover the work Björk’s done during the past two decades, including seven full-length albums and her collaborations with video directors, photographers, fashion designers and artists. She’s co-written a narrative for the exhibition with Icelandic writer Sjón that’s described as “both biographical and imaginatively fictitious.”
A presale for the NYC shows began today. The general public onsale is scheduled Jan. 23 at 11 a.m. EST.
