Sept. 14 is the day you need to enter into your scheduler.  That’s when Estefan and MSM will kick off Hispanic Heritage Month by playing a benefit for “Viva Broadway” at the Minskoff Theatre.

Led by Emilio Estefan, the band emerged in 1975 under the handle Miami Latin Boys.  Havana-born Gloria Maria Milagrosa Fajardo Garcia joined a couple of years later and the group changed its name to Miami Sound Machine. Garcia married Estefan in 1978.

An unstoppable music force on vinyl as well as on the concert stage during the ’80s and early ’90s, the Estefans and Miami Sound Machine impact was fueled by hits such as “Rhythm Is Gonna Get You,” “Can’t Stay Away From You” and “Anything For You.”
