Interpol Uncovers A New Tour

Interpol has unveiled the routing for its first North American tour of 2015 with stops including St. Louis, Cincinnati, San Diego and Pittsburgh. The band will also be making up a few shows it missed in November because of the snowstorm that trapped the act’s tour bus outside Buffalo, N.Y.

The New York indie rockers are continuing to support its fifth studio album, El Pintor, which was released in September, marking the act’s first LP as a three-piece. Bassist/keyboardist Carlos Dengler exited the band in 2010. The lineup features original members vocalist/guitarist/bassist Paul Banks and guitarist/vocalist Daniel Kessler, along with drummer/percussionist Sam Fogarino, who joined the band in 2000.

Interpol’s fall tour was put on hold in late November thanks to the massive snowstorm that hit the Buffalo, N.Y., area. NBC News reported that more than 100 cars were trapped in the snowstorm and 140 miles of Interstate 90 were closed. The band members live tweeted the experience from the comfort of their tour bus. After being stuck in the snow for more than 40 hours they were forced to cancel gigs in Toronto and Montreal. The guys eventually made it to a hotel but closed roads caused the band to call off Boston as well.

Original tickets are being honored for the rescheduled Boston and Montreal gigs. As for Toronto, a new show has not been announced yet. But we can tell you that it will now take place at a different venue because Kool Haus has since closed. Refunds are available and ticketholders will receive an email about presales for the new Toronto date when it is announced.
