Mastodon & Clutch Look For ‘Missing Links’
Featuring complete sets by both sides of the co-bill, the tour includes Big Business in the support slot on most April gigs while Sweden’s Graveyard takes over opening duties later that month.
Mastodon and Clutch aren’t exactly strangers. Clutch frontman Neil Fallon’s vocals appeared on “Blood And Thunder” from Mastodon’s 2004 Leviathan album.
Clutch is currently working on a new album due out this year. The band’s 2013 LP, Earth Rocker, earned a Top 10 spot on Rolling Stone’s “Top 20 Metal Albums Of The Year” and reached No. 4 on iTunes’ top 100 album chart.
The members of Mastodon might experience an anxious moment or two come Feb. 8. The band has been nominated for Grammy glory in the awards show’s best metal performance category for “High Road” from 2014’s Once More ‘Round The Sun.
The announcement comes with a quote from Clutch drummer Jean-Paul Gaster.
“We are very much looking forward to our US tour with our friends in Mastodon,” Gaster said. “We always enjoy playing live but when we have the opportunity to share the stage with a band as inspiring as Mastodon we know each evening will be that much more special. See ya out there!”
