Injury Waylays The Black Keys

A shoulder injury suffered by drummer Patrick Carney has forced The Black Keys to nix its February and March run through Europe.

The Black Keys had planned to rock Europe beginning Feb. 16 in Zurich, Switzerland, and had gigs set for Italy, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, France and the United Kingdom.  But even the best of plans are often interrupted by the unexpected, and Carney’s injury has resulted in clearing the band’s schedule through March 10.

Now the band plans to return to the road beginning April 2 in Brisbane, Australia.

Carney has a dislocated shoulder, according to Rolling Stone.  Along with canceling its winter Euro leg, the band will not perform at the 2015 tribute to Bob Dylan in Los Angeles happening the Friday before the Grammys.

From The Black Keys:

“We are very sorry to have to cancel our upcoming performances through March 10.  Patrick needs time to heal.  We thank all of our fans for their support and we’re looking forward to getting back on the road.”
