Laneway Festival Sells Out Auckland, Singapore

The first two international shows of Australia’s seven-city St. Jerome’s Laneway festival have sold out.

The Jan. 26 stop at Auckland’s Silo Park hit its 10,000-capacity two days before.

The festival, which began in Melbourne in 2004, made its New Zealand debut in 2010, and sold out each year since. The Jan. 24 kickoff in Singapore at The Meadow, Gardens By The Bay shifted all 13,000 tickets.

It was its first sellout since its Singapore debut 2011. Promoters said Brisbane Showgrounds (Jan. 31), Sydney College of the Arts (Feb. 1), Adelaide’s Hart’s Mill (Feb. 6), Melbourne’s Footscray Community Arts Centre (Feb. 7) and Fremantle’s Esplanade Reserve and West End (Feb. 8) had limited tickets left.

Many Laneway sideshows in Sydney and Melbourne sold out, including those by BanksFKA TwigsBenjamin BookerPond and Mac DeMarco. Other acts on the bill include St. VincentFuture IslandsRoyal BloodLittle Dragon, and Flying Lotus, with Chet Faker and Angus and Julia Stone joining some cities.
