Danny Wimmer Presents Scores Funding

Festival producer Danny Wimmer Presents has scored a significant investment from the United Auburn Indian Community Development Corp. plus some new additions to its board of directors including Peter Luukko and Maloof Entertainment Group’s Tony Guanci.
Tony Guanci (DWP board member), Calvin Moman (UAIC council member, DWP board member), DWP CFO Damon D'Arienzo, Danny Rey (UAIC tribal secretary, DWP board member), DWP founder/chairman Danny Wimmer, DWP CEO Danny Hayes, UAIC Chairman Gene Whitehouse, DWP board member Luukko

Under the terms of the deal, DWP will partner with the UAIC, using the funds to develop new festivals and acquire established events in key locations.

Leading the helm of the new business entity is Danny Hayes, who was recently appointed CEO and will oversee operations and drive the company’s accelerated growth initiatives.

Hayes and two UAIC representatives have also joined the board of directors. Luukko, former president of Comcast-Spectacor, oversaw all operations of the Philadelphia Flyers and was an influential figure involved with the city’s Spectrum and facility management company Global Spectrum.

He resigned at the end of 2013 to “monetize his interest” and “pursue entreprenurial activities.” He accepted the position of executive chairman for Pointstreak Sports Technologies last year.

DWP founder Danny Wimmer will continue his involvement as chairman and chief creative officer.

Danny Wimmer Presents’ portfolio currently includes Rock On The Range, Monster Energy Aftershock Festival, Monster Energy Welcome To Rockville, Monster Energy Carolina Rebellion and Louder Than Life. The company said it plans to add five new festivals in 2015.
