Sufjan Stevens’ ‘Carrie & Lowell’ Adventure

Philadelphia, New York, Cleveland, San Diego and Seattle are just a few of the stops for Sufjan Stevens as the singer/songwriter begins his 2015 travels in support of his new album, Carrie & Lowell.

Called “the best record Sufjan Stevens Has Ever Made” by London’s Guardian, Carrie & Lowell arrives March 31 on his Asthmatic Kitty Records and is named after the artist’s mother and stepfather.  Stevens gives you more information about the album via this video announcing the release.

Stevens’ seventh studio album joins a rather eclectic discography that includes 2004’s Seven Swans featuring sacred and biblical songs, and his 2001 electronic album for animals of the Chinese zodiac, Enjoy Your RabbitCarrie & Lowell features Stevens exploring life and death, love and loss and his attempts to make sense of “the beauty and ugliness of love.”

The tour starts just days after the album’s release.  Here’s the schedule:
