Ting Tings Continue ‘Super Critical’ Outing

There are more dates for the The Ting Tings as Katie White and Jules De Martino extend their North American tour in support of their latest album, “Super Critical.”  Plans include a SXSW showcase along with headline shows in San Diego, Salt Lake City, Atlanta, Dallas and New Orleans.

Released in October, Super Critical was co-produced by Duran Duran’s Andy Taylor.  White and De Martino met while grabbing some vacation time on the Mediterranean island of Ibiza.

“It felt like making a record while partying in your bedroom, which is pretty much exactly how we made the first album,” De Martino said.  “In 9 months we became like family.  It was a massive education for us. His old analogue approach, the studio set-ups he used in the ‘80s with Duran were perfect for the sound we were looking for.  That approach isn’t around anymore.  Studio people don’t know how to achieve it.”

The upcoming tour features new destinations as well as The Ting Tings returning to Los Angeles and San Francisco – two cities where the duo played to sold out audiences in late 2014.  Of course, having a hit single like “Wrong Club” helped fill those rooms.

The tour begins with the group’s showcase happening sometime in a March 17-22 timeframe at SXSW in Austin, Texas.  The Ting Tings return to Austin in April.  Here’s the routing:
