WME Aquires Dixon Talent

WME’s comedy lineup just got a big boost with the acquisition of Dixon Talent, home to Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert and Jimmy Kimmel.

The talent agency will remain based in New York City and operate as an independent entity under WME/IMG.

Agency founder James Dixon also reps Carson Daly and ESPN’s Bill Simmons, among others. Dixon spent many years as a comic agent at William Morris Agency then left to join Michael Ovitz’s Artists Management Group. He briefly worked at CAA before launching his boutique agency.

“James has built his business on two core philosophies that are intrinsic to WME/IMG: a belief in great talent and applying an entrepreneurial approach to representation,” WME co-CEO Patrick Whitesell said.

Dixon has been involved in several television series including “Everybody Loves Raymond,” King of Queens,” “The Daily Show,” “The Colbert Report” and “The Man Show.”
