Telephone Boxes And Toilets

The lowest rung on the UK touring circuit – what many agents refer to as telephone boxes and toilets – is in a “perilous and precarious state,” according to the Music Venue Trust.

Following on from the Venues Day that the music charity organised in December, it’s now published research called Understanding Small Music Venues. The research, which was conducted by the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance, is intended as a discussion document on the subject.

More than 120 venues were represented at Venues Day and 107 participated in its ongoing research project. A full report will be released March 9, when Music Venue Trust will announce a response to its findings.
