Odds & Ends: Aerosmith, Taylor Swift, Mariah Carey

Aerosmith announces its first headline show of 2015 … Haim joins Taylor Swift’s 1989 tour … Mariah Carey is caught lip syncing at Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.

Looks like we’re getting closer to Aerosmith making its big 2015 tour announcement. During a December interview with Guitar International, Joe Perry confirmed that the band was “going back on the road this summer” and last week Aerosmith’s website posted a reminder to Aero Force One members about how its presales works.

Now the band has booked a July 10 gig in Salinas, Calif., at the Salinas Sports Complex. The Aero Force One member presale begins Feb. 10 at 10 a.m. PST and runs through 10 p.m. Members in current standing will receive presale codes Feb. 4. Tickets go on sale to the public Feb. 12 at 10 a.m. PST.

The Salinas gig goes along with a previously announced July 22 appearance at Cheyenne Frontier Days in Wyoming.

Taylor Swift is taking her pals Este, Danielle and Alana on the road with her this summer. The sisters, better known as Haim, have recently gotten in plenty of bonding time with the pop star. As documented on Instagram, Haim was there for Swift’s 25th birthday party (who wasn’t?) and the girls recently visited Catalina and Maui together.

Swift announced the post on Instagram, writing, “HAIM IS JOINING THE 1989 TOUR THIS IS NOT A DRILL I REPEAT HAIM IS JOINING THE 1989 TOUR.”

Haim appears July 10-11 in East Rutherford, N.J.; July 13-14 in Washington, D.C.; July 18-19 in Chicago; July 24-25 in Foxborough, Mass.; Aug. 21-22 and Aug. 24-26 in Los Angeles; Sept. 25-26 in Nashville; and Sept. 28-29 in St. Louis.

Poor Mimi. It seems like no matter what, she just can’t win. After last fall’s tour of Pacific Rim cities brought complaints that her voice wasn’t up to snuff, now Mariah Carey is being accused of (very poorly) lip syncing. The embarrassing incident occurred Friday at the Jamaica Jazz and Blues Festival.
