Australia: Nickelback, Hozier Add Dates

Nickelback expands dates downunder Live Nation added a second Melbourne show for Nickelback at Rod Laver Arena May 16, and a performance in Newcastle Entertainment Centre May 23. It brings the band’s May 15-26 arena run to seven.

Canada’s Tea Party frontman Jeff Martin confirms a solo acoustic Returning From The Ocean At The End run. Martin, who spends half a year in Australia, plays 23 clubs March 12 to May 3. The dates are through 93 Records, which Martin set up with managers Robert Buratti and Paul Newman.

British pop singer Charli XCX returns to headline theatre dates for Frontier Touring April 29 to May 7 in between sets on the Groovin’ The Moo festival. The theatre dates has fast-rising rapper Tkay Maidza opening.

The Drunk Promoter has Guttermouth returning for club dates April 2-25. Bluesfest Touring confirmed sideshows for Irish singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist Hozier and U.S. guitarist Hunter Hayes. Both are on maiden visits downunder and play Bluesfest in April. Hozier plays theatres in Melbourne (March 28) and Sydney (March 30) in conjunction with Chugg Entertainment. Hayes is up for two additional theatre dates, in Melbourne (April 6) and Sydney (April 8).

Justin Townes Earle has done seven tours in Australia in eight years, the last being October 2014. He returns for Love Police for a solo run, bringing with him country singer Sam Outlaw for club dates April 3-18 in addition to two Bluesfest appearances.

Amsterdam house DJ duo Detroit Swindle does three East Coast clubs Feb. 20-22 for Novel.

Tiga tours behind his “Bugatti” hit’s stay at No. 1 for six weeks on the official ARIA club chart with a five-club national visit March 12-15 through Totem OneLove Group.
