Ed Sheeran Announces North America Tour

Ed Sheeran didn’t take home any Grammy awards last night but as a consolation prize he does have a huge run of North American dates coming up. The new headline gigs are booked after his May 2 appearance at New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

The English singer/songwriter is continuing to support his sophomore album, x, which was released last summer. The LP was nominated for a Grammy for best pop vocal album and album of the year. “I See Fire,” the song he wrote for “The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug,” earned a nod in the category “Best Song Written for Visual Media.”

During Sunday’s award show Sheeran performed his single “Thinking Out Loud,” while accompanied by John Mayer and Questlove. Sheeran also joined in on Electric Light Orchestra’s medley.
