Black Label Society Sets ‘Unblackened’ Dates

You know that live CD/DVD Black Label Society released a couple of years ago?  The band is taking that show to both coasts was well as stops in Indiana, Wisconsin, Kansas, Colorado, Michigan and Utah.

Originally planned as a one-night-only concert, the gig at Los Angeles’ Club Nokia featured Zakk Wylde and Black Label Society performing intimate and mostly acoustic versions of songs such as “Losin’ Your Mind,” “Speedball,” “In This River” and “Won’t Find It Here.”  The video embedded below depicts the band’s close-up-and-personal performance of “Spoke In The Wheel.”

Along with performing songs from Unblackened, Black Label Society plans play songs from Wylde’s solo album Book Of Shadows as well as a few numbers from his southern-rock group Pride & Glory.

“I’ve always wanted to take Unblackened on the road, we just didn’t have the time until now,” Wylde said.  “You can take a song that you’ve played thousands of times and rearrange it, and all of a sudden it’s something totally fresh.  The attitude of the songs doesn’t change when we play them acoustically – the tunes are gritty regardless.”

Here’s the plan:
April 3 – Huntington, N.Y., The Paramount
April 4 – Hampton Beach, N.H., Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom
April 6 – Sayreville, N.J., Starland Ballroom
April 8 – Baltimore, Md., Rams Head Live!

April 11 – Grand Rapids, Mich., Orbit Room
