Set for May 2 at the Saenger Theatre, “Nevilles Forever: A Celebration Of The Neville Brothers and Their Music” will also include performances by Irma Thomas, Terence Blanchard, Ivan Neville, John Boutté, Anders Osborne and Ian Neville.  Expect more artists to be announced in the coming weeks.

Of course, you also get The Neville Brothers  – Aaron, Art, Charles & Cyril – performing at their very last show.

Don Was serves as the evening’s music director and will lead an all-star band backing the performers.  Creator and executive director is Keith Wortman, who has produced events and broadcast specials honoring artists, including Johnny Cash, Levon Helm, Gregg Allman, Mavis Staples, and Emmylou Harris.  The evening will be filmed and recorded for multi-platform release via traditional and digital media.

“The Neville Brothers are the royal family of New Orleans funk,” Was said.  “Individually each brother is a musical powerhouse unto himself, but when they play together they create musical magic.  The fact that they’ve come home to New Orleans for this show makes it all the more special.”

Tickets go on sale Feb. 16 at 10 a.m. CST.  Visit NevillesForever.com for more information.
