Mysteryland Becomes A Festival

One of Europe’s oldest dance events is growing from a one-day event to a two-dayer, and rebranding itself as a festival.

Starting as a three-day event at the Midland Circuit at Lelystad, The Netherlands, in 1993, the following year it moved to Rotterdam Maasvlakte.

The 1995 event didn’t happen but in 1996 it returned as a one-day event at Eindhoven Airport. Promoted by ID&T, now owned by SFX Entertainment, Mysteryland remained a one-day event as it moved around The Netherlands, taking in Utrecht, Lingebos, Bussloo, Six Flags and Amsterdam, before settling in its current home at Haarlemmermeer in 2003.

The Haarlemmermeer festival site is just moments away from Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport and from the city of Amsterdam itself making it easy to reach via flight and rail routes. Mysteryland is Aug. 29-30.
