Tim McGraw Loads The ‘Shotgun’

Playing arenas and amphitheatres, Tim McGraw’s “Shotgun Rider Tour” launches in North Little Rock, Ark., in early June.  Destinations include Raleigh, Toronto, Cincinnati and other places needing a night of good & crazy country fun.

Featuring support from Billy Currington and Chase Bryant, McGraw’s summer adventure is in support of his 13th studio album, Sundown Heaven Town, his second release on Big Machine Records.  The RIAA gold-certified single, “Shotgun Rider,” has spent four weeks in the No. 1 slot on the country charts.

McGraw has a high-profile TV gig coming up.  The country star will perform the Oscar-nominated song, “I’m Not Gonna Miss You” for Glen Campbell at the 87th Academy Awards Feb. 22 at Los Angeles’ Dolby Theatre.  The annual awards program starring Hollywood’s crème de la crème airs on ABC.

Back to the tour. McGraw has a variety of stops before launching his June-August journey.  He will play the Houston Livestock Show And Rodeo / Rodeo Houston March 10; the Stagecoach California Country Music Festival April 24 and the iHeartRadio Country Festival in Austin May 2.

McGraw also has a few festival gigs this summer, including the Taste Of Country Music Fest in Hunter, N.Y., June 13; Country Jam USA in Grand Junction, Colo., June 21; Chippewa Valley Country Festival in Cadott, Wis., June 26; and Country USA in Oshkosh, Wis., June 27.
