Pixies To Rock May
This time Pixies’ Black Francis, Joey Santiago and David Lovering plus touring bassist Paz Lenchantin plan to dig deep into the band’s heritage. An announcement on the group’s website promises a “new and varied set” that will be “full of distortion howls and all the vivid dissonance a Pixies fan would expect – all performed on a sparse yet stunning stage.”
In other words, nuttin’ but music without all the fancy bell and whistles. Here’s the plan so far:
May 5 – New Orleans, La., The Civic Theatre
May 6 – Birmingham, Ala., Iron City
May 8 – Atlanta, Ga., Central Park (Shaky Knees Music Festival)
May 9 – Tampa, Fla., MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre (Big Guava Music Festival)
May 11 – North Charleston, S.C., North Charleston Perf. Arts Center
May 12 – Charlotte, N.C., Ovens Auditorium
May 13 – Norfolk, Va., NorVa
May 15 – Louisville, Ky., The Louisville Palace Theatre
May 17 – Cleveland, Ohio, Masonic Auditorium
May 19 – Niagara Falls, N.Y., Rapids Theatre
May 21 – Burlington, Vt., Flynn Center For The Performing Arts
May 22 – Cooperstown, N.Y., Brewery Ommegang
May 24 – Boston, Mass., City Hall Plaza (Boston Calling)
May 27 – New York, N.Y., Beacon Theatre
May 28 – Brooklyn, N.Y., Kings Theatre
Fan-only presales begin Feb. 25 at 9 a.m. EST via the band’s website. General onsales launch Feb. 25. Click here to get started on your Pixies spring adventure.
