Sam Smith Reveals July-August Dates

Having completed his first arena tour of North America only weeks ago, Britain’s Sam Smith will be back to play more big venues this summer.  Stops include Miami, Cleveland, Houston and St. Louis.

This time around the newly minted Grammy winner will add some amphitheatres to his plans, appearing at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Md., July 24; Red Rocks near Denver Aug. 4 and the Gorge near Quincy, Wash., Aug. 8.

Smith rocketed to fame via his mega-selling debut album, The Lonely Hour.  The single “Stay With Me” nabbed record and song of the year at the Grammys while the LP was honored as the year’s best pop vocal album.  Smith was also named best new artist.

The singer/songwriter may have more awards to add to his collection before the week is out.  The winner of last year’s Brits Critic’s Choice award, Smith leads this year’s pack with five Brit award nominations and will perform at the ceremony at The O2 London Feb. 25.

The summer tour begins with a performance at Louisville’s Forecastle Festival.  Here’s the schedule:
