Lenny Kravitz Can’t Make It

The scheduling gods have not been kind to Lenny Kravitz fans. The rocker has called off a handful of Australia dates, including his appearance at Byron Bay Bluesfest.  He’s also nixed March shows in Japan, Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia.

Kravitz was set to take the stage at Bluesfest in Tyagarah, Australia, April 2, followed by headline dates in Melbourne and Darling Harbour, outside of Sydney.

Here’s what he had to tell fans: “Unfortunately, due to contractual scheduling conflicts beyond my control I will not be able to come to Bluesfest to perform this year. I have been looking forward to coming to play for my fans and I’m deeply sorry that my concert had to be canceled. My ability to come play for you all is a huge concern to me and while I am unable to confirm another time right now, I’m looking forward to rescheduling so I can perform for you in Byron Bay as soon as possible. Love and Respect…Lenny.”

Bluefest festival director Peter Noble also released a statement saying, “It is sad for all of us here at Bluesfest, when anyone cancels, as we know it must be for Lenny’s fans right now. Please be assured we are now attempting to find someone else to come and play.”

The fest’s lineup includes The Black Keys, Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals, Hozier, Zac Brown Band and Alabama Shakes.

With the Australia/Asia tour canceled, Kravitz’s next stop is West Palm Beach, Fla., for an appearance at SunFest April 29. He’ll also be at Beale Street Music Festival in Memphis May 1.
