The Avett Brothers Make Plans For June

The Avett Brothers just added a handful of new gigs to its schedule to go along with appearances announced earlier this week at Bunbury Festival and Southern Grown Festival. The new stops take place in Illinois, Connecticut and Texas.

The Avett siblings & Co. have been earning great press on their 2015 touring, which began in early February. The Santa Barbara Independent reviewed the folk rock band’s Feb. 10 show at the Arlington Theatre in Santa Barbara, Calif., calling it a “foot-stomping, playful and loud” affair.

“[Cellist Joe] Kwon jammed so hard the strings of his bow were shredding by the end of the second song,” the Independent wrote. “The high-spirited dynamic between Kwon and [violinist Tania] Elizabeth was a sight to behold in itself, as were the impassioned vocal harmonies of Scott and Seth Avett.”

Tonight the band plays the first of two nights at Dallas’ South Side Ballroom. The guys assure fans that despite the weather, the show is still on.

“Please drive safely and take your time getting to the venue. We look forward to seeing you!” the band posted on Facebook today.
