New Stadium Management Consortium To Launch

A new stadium management consortium is to launch in March downunder, initially beginning operations in Western Australia.

The WA Football Club will launch the stand-alone Perth Stadium Management with partners Live Nation, Ticketmaster and U.S. catering company Delaware North.

The new company already has a three-year deal to operate the 43,000-capacity in Subiaco. Its last major concert was One Direction, McBusted and Australian R&B-pop singer Samantha Jade Feb 20. It is bidding for the 2017-due 60,000-seater Perth Stadium, and eying rights for nib Stadium in East Perth and the Western Australia Cricket Association (WACA) Grounds.

It plans to expand into other states. WAFC chief executive Gary Walton said that aside from its own sporting contacts in Australia, “The partnership with Live Nation and Ticketmaster aims to capitalize on those companies’ extensive international contacts with global touring concert acts.”
