Borgata Bets On New Venues

January may have seen the dissolution of the Atlantic City Alliance that hosted big free concerts in the New Jersey resort town, but Atlantic City isn’t done with music just yet.

Plans are for a new outdoor venue and nightclub at the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa.

The casino recently got the green light from the state’s Casino Reinvestment Development Authority to spend $14 million of current and future funds on construction of the venues, which will be booked by Live Nation Philadelphia. Borgata Festival Park will debut June 13 with multiple artists taking the stage for an all-day celebration, the Borgata announced.

The venue is also scheduled to feature a series of electronic dance music parties and will host the Savor Borgata Culinary Series. “We are looking forward to being a part of this new outdoor venue coming to Borgata,” LN Philadelphia President Geoff Gordon said. “Borgata Festival Park will be another avenue to bring top-tier entertainment to Atlantic City and highlight all the city has to offer.”

The new nightclub is slated to open by the end of the year and Josh Held Design, which worked on projects including Las Vegas’ TAO Nightclub and NYC’s Marquee club, is directing the creation. “We recognize the importance of providing our customers with a fresh, uniquely original nightlife concept,” Borgata VP of operations Joe Lupo said.

“In addition to engaging the most elite DJs in the industry, we are thrilled with the prospect of this new nightclub working in conjunction with Borgata Festival Park to create an all-day/night entertainment experience unlike any other.” A lineup for the new venues is forthcoming.
