Aussie Acts Land U.S. Deals
The 24-year old, brought up on Detroit soul-pop and Memphis blues, sold out her Australian tour this fall. She makes her U.S. debut at South By Southwest. “From the first time we at 300 heard ‘Roll Up Your Sleeves,’ we fell in love with Meg Mac,” said Cohen. “She is a true artist of immense talent.”
Rock band Bellusira, based in America the last 12 months, has extended its stay indefinitely. This is after being inked by hard rock/metal Pavement Entertainment. Signed to M7 agency for U.S. representation, the band recently finished a 21-date U.S. tour with Oh. After its current Australian run (March 6-22), Bellusira returns to the U.S. for 40 shows. The schedule for the rest of 2015 sees the band play five to six nights a week throughout the U.S.
Brisbane punk-rock trio Columbus joined The Agency Group for North America, repped by Chad Lehner, who said, “The authenticity of the vocals and the lyrics are ones that I can relate to and ones that I feel speak to a wide audience.” The band, formed in 2012, receives strong college radio support. After playing the Feb/March Soundwave festival, it does a five-date Australian East Coast run April 17 to May 9 behind the Home Remedy EP.
