To Hear Is The Fashion

The latest trend in fashion accessories for music festivals – earplugs – may have been hidden in plain sight at an event but that’s about to change.

Goldenvoice in partnership with New York-based Doppler Labs plans to hand out 100,000 pairs of its new DUBS brand of soft-molded earplugs in the welcome boxes given out at the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Indio, Calif., this spring. Different-colored pairs of the upscale DUBS Acoustic Filters will also be on sale at the festival for $25 a pair, according to a statement.

Doppler Labs CEO and co-founder Noah Kraft said the partnership is a match made in heaven. “We simply could not ask for a better platform than Coachella to launch DUBS Earplugs,” he said in a statement. “Coachella has set the standard for live music and curation. “We are proud to be a partner and provide hearing protection that allows all attendees to be immersed in the festival and optimize the music listening experience.”

Doppler Labs, described as a wearable technology company launched last year, markets its products to “to discerning, style-conscious consumers.” The DUBS line is designed to enhance a concertgoer’s listening experience while lowering the sound level by “an average of 12dB while preserving audio clarity.”
