Global Announces Key Appointments
Adam began as an entertainment booker at a London university, before switching his talents to recorded music at Mercury Records, Island Records and Polydor. He also spent some time as a judge on “Popstars”, the first reality TV talent show and a forerunner to “Pop Idol” and “The X Factor.”
He’s helped build the careers of an impressive lists of acts including Bjork, The Gaslight Anthem, Suede, McFly, Busted, Ian Brown and Amy Macdonald. If Adams is to head up A&R, then former Universal Publishing A&R exec Monti Olson looks to have been brought in to run the publishing division.
Olson, who joins as an executive vice president and managing director of Global’s worldwide publishing, will oversee a roster that so far includes Ellie Goulding, Corinne Bailey Rae, LMFAO, The Script, The Vamps, and The Vaccines.
Bob Semanovich has joined from Capitol Records, where he worked on marketing campaigns for the likes of Katy Perry, Beck, Rod Stewart, and Coldplay, as Global’s record label’s senior vice president for marketing, while Ben Karter comes in as general manager of the recorded music division.
Karter comes from James Grant management, where he had responsibility for artists such as The Script and Pixie Lott. Prior to that he was head of marketing at Mercury Records.
The artist management team has been boosted by the addition of Nicola Carson, who previously oversaw the careers of Leona Lewis, One Direction, and Modest! Management’s U.S. roster. She joins Global as a vice president of artist management.
She’ll be based be based in L.A., while Rachel Wood – who was previously at 19 Entertainment looking after the Spice Girls reunion – is joining the London office, also as a vice president of artist management.
