Barclays Rockin’ Board

Here’s something you don’t see every day: an arena with an advisory board filled with music industry power brokers, artists and musicians.

Brett Yormark, CEO of Brooklyn’s  and the Brooklyn Nets, and Charlie Walk, exec VP of Republic Records, formed an advisory group in December that would offer guidance on programming strategy and other direction for the Brooklyn arena.

The board – officially titled Brooklyn Sports & Entertainment Advisory Board – will also offer ideas for the soon to be re-created Nassau Coliseum, the Brooklyn Paramount Theatre at LIU and any other venues that could be on Barclays Center’s horizon.

The board has about 30 members on it, including seven that joined recently. Names include Scooter Braun, Scott Borchetta and Ken Levitan.

There is also Nick Cannon, host of “America’s Got Talent,” and actress Rosie Perez, currently seen on “The View.”

Some other names: Sean McManus, chairman of CBS Sports, Crush Management co-founder Bob McLynn, and Republic Records CEO Monte Lipman.

There are also WME/IMG’s Doug Scott, BET’s Stephen Hill, and actor Adrien Grenier (aka Vincent Chase of “Entourage”).

The advisory board is part of the planning of upcoming events at Barclays including the 2016 NCAA Division I Men’s Basketball Championship, ACC Men’s Basketball Tournament and the arena’s annual New Year’s Eve shows that are featured live on “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest.”
