Izod Signage Coming Down
The state-operated Izod Center in East Rutherford, N.J., is going dark at the end of the month, and the arena’s signage will come down with the closure.
Izod Center faced financial troubles and increased competition from newer venues in recent years.
The 34-year-old arena lost the New Jersey devils to Newark’s Prudential Center in 2007, and the New Jersey Nets left in 2010 for greener pastures at Barclays Center .
Officials hope it can be leased or sold after that, the paper noted. The last show on the books for Izod Center is Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Baily Circus March 18-22.
