Pearl Jam Announces First Dates Of 2015

Pearl Jam’s first scheduled tour of the year will take the band to Latin America in November. Dates are lined up in Chile, Brazil and Mexico.

The band is continuing to support its 10th studio album, 2013’s Lightning Bolt. In February the LP won a Grammy for best recording package. Frontman Eddie Vedder and bassist Jeff Ament collaborated on the design with artist Don Pendleton and art director Joe Spix.

Before the trip to Latin America launches you can catch guitarist Mike McCready take the stage for Flight To Mars’ 13th annual benefit concert at Seattle’s Showbox in May. Along with McCready, the tribute act to UFO features Tim DiJulio on guitar, Gary Westlake on bass, Mike Musburger on drums, Ryan Burns on keyboards and Paul Passereli handling vocals.  

After the initial May 1 show sold out, a second night was added May 2. Seattle-based super group Walking Papers – Screaming Trees drummer Barrett Martin, Guns N’ Roses bassist Duff McKagan and former Missionary Position vocalist Jeff Angell – supports Friday, May 1.

The Ann Wilson Blues Experience will be there on Saturday with McCready, Dave Matthews Band bassist Stefan Lessard, drummer Ben Smith and special guests.

Plus, you can expect some special guest singers to appear at the benefit. Past guests have included Vedder, Stone Gossard, Star Anna, Kim Virant and members of Left Hand Smoke. Proceeds benefit the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of America’s Camp Oasis program.

Nov. 11 – Porto Belo, Brazil, Arena Do Gremio       
Nov. 14 – Sao Paulo, Brazil, Estadio Cicero Pompeu de Toledo     
Nov. 17 – Brasilia, Brazil, Estádio Nacional Mané Garrincha         
Nov. 20 – Belo Horizonte, Brazil, Mineirao Stadium           
Nov. 22 – Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, Maracana Stadium           
Nov. 28 – Mexico City, Mexico, Foro Sol

Pearl Jam has a few more dates to add to the schedule, with TBD spots on the calendar blocked out Nov. 7 and Nov. 25.

The general public onsale for Mexico City begins March 20 at 10 a.m. local time, followed by Santiago’s onsale at 12 p.m. local time. Ticket sale info is yet to be announced for Brazil.
