San Antonio Venue Owner Killed

The owner of San Antonio’s  was shot and killed early morning March 15 and the suspect was still at large at press time.

Pete Gonzales was pronounced dead at San Antonio Military Medical Center after being shot around 2 a.m., according to San Antonio Express-News.

The suspect, described as a Hispanic man in his 30s, had apparently been kicked out of the club then retrieved a handgun from his car and fired several shots at Gonzales, hitting him once.

“It is a huge loss of a giant icon in the live music and concert industry in San Antonio,” club operators Michelle Rodriguez and Gonzales’ daughter Vestiny said in a statement. “Pete will be truly missed. We have loved him in life, let us not forget him after death.”
