Man Charged Over Ryman Squeeze

A Nashville man who allegedly squeezed his ex-girlfriend’s neck with “extreme pressure” during a concert at the Ryman Auditorium faces multiple charges.

Charles Dixon began hugging the woman during the show and was warned about the pressure he was applying to her neck, according to a police report obtained by the Tennessean. While the report said Dixon told the woman “I just love you so much,” she told police she was worried Dixon wanted to hurt her or kill her.

Following the show, the woman drove Dixon to pick up his car, during which time she claims he threw her phone out the window, according to the report. And when Dixon got into his own car, she said he began following her and rammed his vehicle into hers multiple times.

When the woman stopped at a restaurant to speak to Dixon, police responded and officers conducted sobriety tests. He faces charges including aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, driving under the influence and theft.
