Ticketfly Buys Canada’s Northern Tickets

Ticketfly continues its expansion into Canada with the acquisition of Northern Tickets, the in-house ticketing service of The MRG Group.

The deal will bring the Ticketfly platform to venues and events including Vancouver, British Columbia’s1,300-capacity Vogue Theatre and the Vancouver International Jazz Festival, plus the new 500-cap Adelaide Hall in Toronto.

“We’ve seen tremendous growth in Canada since launching there a couple years ago, with gross ticket sales up 80 percent year-over-year in 2014 alone,” Ticketfly CEO Andrew Dreskin said. “We’ve become the go-to solution for independent venues and promoters across Canada, and we believe that this transaction signals continued growth for us up there.”

Ticketfly launched Canadian operations in 2013, and now partners with more than 120 venues and promoters across the country.
