Alabama’s Sloss Music Fest Readies For Debut

Modest Mouse, Band Of Horses, Primus and more await you at the inaugural , designed to highlight Birmingham’s ever-growing music, food and arts scene.  Tickets go on sale this week.

The lineup for July 18-19 at the historic Sloss Furnaces National Historic Landmark includes St. Paul Amd The Broken Bones, Cage The Elephant, Young The Giant, Lord Huron, Tyler, The Creator, Purity Ring, First Aid Kit, Manchester Orchestra, Big Gigantic, Sturgill Simpson, The New Pornographers, Robert DeLong and others.  Organizers are promising another major headline act to be announced shortly.

But mere text isn’t enough to describe the experience awaiting you at Sloss.  That’s what YouTube is for.

Sloss will also host a separatley ticketed event called “Nick ’N Friends.” Along with Nick Pihakis of  Jim ’N Nick’s, chefs appearing include Ryan Prewitt of Peche Seafood in New Orleans; Rodney Scott of Scott’s Bar-B-Q in Hemmingway, S.C., and Ryan Farr of  4505 Meats in San Francisco.

Two-day passes go on sale March 27 at 10 a.m. CDT. You have three options to choose from – general admission, VIP and “Iron” with the latter providing access to air-conditioned tents and private bars on site.  A limited number of GA passes will be priced at $105 plus fees.  Ticket prices will increase as allotments decrease.
