Live Nation Assists Ontario Fair

Officials with the  District in London, Ontario, are getting into the outdoor concert business this summer beginning with a Van Halen concert in August.

The local CFPL AM reported the fair has teamed up with Live Nation Canada to develop a business model for its raceway that can reportedly hold 20,000 people.

That’s bigger than the 10,200-cap

Harris Park hosts an annual Rock The Park festival each July. Advantages in the fairgrounds’ favor include abundant parking and infrastructure to handle major touring productions from bands like Van Halen, the station said.

The concert at the Western Fair is one of two Canadian dates for Van Halen this summer. The band was supposed to play Budweiser Gardens in July 2012, but the show was canceled.
