Foo Fighters Help Australian Fan
Foo Fighters fanatic Ken Powell, 56, who has suffered from melanoma for 14 years gets his bucket wish to meet the band.
NSW-based Powell, who is wheelchair-bound most of the time, bought tickets to all six Foos Australian dates in March.
A planned meet-and-greet in Perth was canceled after frontman Dave Grohl contracted food poisoning. An airline stewardess on a Foos flight told Grohl what happened.
The musician took a photo of himself with a card “Hi Ken!” sent some merchandise and offered VIP passes for a Los Angeles show in September.
Powell’s family launched a crowd-funding campaign through GoFundMe to cover the A$30,000 ($23,253) travel and accommodation expenses. By March 30, he had raised A$23,577 ($17, 950).
