Refused Brings Reunion To USA

Refused unveiled the routing for the “Freedom USA Tour” this week to go along with a previously announced run of festival dates. The 2015 outing marks the Swedish hardcore punk band’s return to the stage since the act’s 2012 reunion trek.

The 2012 excursion was initially thought to be a one-off tour following the band’s 1998 split. The band had told fans that its Dec. 15, 2012, show was its final gig with a post saying, “The hatchet is buried, 1998 is not such a terrible memory for us anymore. We’re going home. And we’re doing it in style.”

But things have obviously changed since Jon Brännström split with the act. In a Facebook post that has since been deleted, the guitarist announced Oct. 31 that he had been fired, according to Consequence Of Sound. The next day the band told fans they had “cut ties with Jon already in 2013 because he did not share our passion for the band.”

Refused makes its grand return May 2 with an appearance at the Groezrock Festival in Meerhout, Belgium. Here’s the plan for the “Freedom USA Tour.”
