Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev For Paleo

Switzerland’s Paléo Nyon Festival is celebrating its 40th birthday by putting a classical music concert featuring works by Rachmaninoff and Prokofiev.

The festival in the French-speaking part of the country between Geneva and Lausanne has regularly featured a classical slot, but this year with 90 musicians taking part it’s going to need to be on the main stage.

The musicians will be mainly students from the university orchestras from Geneva and Lausanne, and the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music from the National University of Singapore.

The lineup for the 35,000-capacity six-day festival, which has sold out for the last 16 years and last year did it in six hours, will be announced April 14. The onsale is April 17.
