Sharon Osbourne announced last month that Black Sabbath’s appearance at Nov. 22 would be the band’s “farewell.”  Now it appears the pioneering rock band won’t be there to say its goodbyes.

A message posted by the band on its Facebook page is brief and to the point: “Despite previous reports, Black Sabbath will not appear on this year’s Ozzfest Japan, the show will instead feature the festival’s namesake, Ozzy Osbourne (and friends).”

No other information is available at this time.

Scheduled for Nov. 21-22 at Chiaba’s Makuhari Messe, Ozzfest Japan will host Korn Nov. 21. Click here for the official website.

Dierks Bentley has joined Luke Bryan’s  as a headlining performer.  The multi-day party happening Jan. 22-26 at Mexico’s Riviera Maya will feature Bryan helming two nights of beachfront concerts and Bentley performing on one evening.  Expect more artists to be announced.

has boosted its star power by adding David Crosby, Kate Pierson of The B-52’s, Los Lobos and Citizen Cope to its lineup.

Planned for June 20-21 at Croton Point Park in Croton On Hudson, N.Y., the festival founded by folk music legend Pete Seeger presents itself as “the country’s oldest and largest music and environmental festival.”  The list of acts previously announced as appearing includes The Mavericks, Neko Case, Guster, Ani DiFranco, Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn, Blind Boys Of Alabama, Angélique Kidjo, Shelby Lynne, Bettye LaVette and many others.
