Obamas To Host White House Celebration Of Gospel Music
Top recording artists are heading to the White House for a celebration of gospel music.
Aretha Franklin, Lyle Lovett, Shirley Caesar, Emmylou Harris and Darlene Love are among the artists expected to participate in Tuesday night’s concert.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to make brief remarks about gospel music’s role in American music.
The event is the latest in the “In Performance at the White House” series that is broadcast by PBS television stations nationwide.
It will be streamed live Tuesday on the White House website, and broadcast nationwide by PBS on June 26.
