Jack White To Unplug

Saying he needs a rest, Jack White plans to leave the tour bus and lay low for a while.  But first he’s going to do five shows in five states that he’s never played before.  Plus, he’s only going to plug in the microphones.

As kind of a finale for this “Lazaretto” world tour and following his appearance at in Indio, Calif., this weekend, White will travel with an acoustic quartet that includes Fats Kaplin, Lillie Mae Rische and Dominic Davis.  The instruments will be totally acoustic and the only amplification will be from the ribbon microphones, according to a post on White’s website that states the gigs “will be the very first totally acoustic full concerts Jack has ever done.”

The tickets will be priced at $3. No, that wasn’t a mistake.  Three bucks will buy you one ticket. In fact, that’s all you’ll be allowed to buy as purchasing is limited to one per person.

There won’t be any advance word on these shows.  Instead, each engagement will be announced at 8 a.m. local time on the morning of the show day.  All tickets will go on sale at 12 p.m. on the day of show and will be a cash only, first come-first served deal.  Head over to White’s website for the complete announcement.
