Lady A’s Bus Crashes, All Safe

Lady Antebellum singer Hillary Scott, her husband and tour manager escaped injury after their tour bus crashed near Garland, Texas, en route to Dallas from Nashville for the Academy of Country Music Awards.

The bus blew a rear tire on a busy I-30 at about 8:30 a.m. April 16, according to the Dallas Morning News.

The paper reports the bus pulled over and then caught fire. Scott and the rest of the occupants escaped the bus without injury, but the ensuing fire caused a massive traffic jam was expected to last for several hours as crews cleaned up.

Another of the band’s tour busses reportedly picked up the stranded passengers to continue the trip.

Scott told her fans she was safe via Instagram. “Thanking God for our safety and the safety of all those who helped put this fire out and keep us safe,” Scott posted.

A few hours later, Scott Instagrammed another photo and said she was sleeping before the evacuation, adding that most of the group’s personal belongings were in the bus’s back lounge and were destroyed in the fire, according to the paper.

“My faith is forever deepened because of today,” Scott wrote. “I hope this story deepens yours.”
